The Boys From Bethlehem

We have known The Boys From Bethlehem for over 20 years and it has been the greatest Blessing in our lives. Though they are no longer boys, but grown men with beautiful daughters and handsome sons, these guys will *always* be The Boys to us. We have been friends with their families (and they have a very large and wonderful family) for 20 years also. Michael and Warren are brothers and their Dad (Bobby Jarman) wrote the song you are listening to. He was one of George's very best friends and their mother, Geraldine, my dear friend, also. Oh, the fun we used to have. *S*

'The Boys' began singing in Oct. 1971. As very young teen's they were being asked to sing at many churches. When it was time to introduce them, the Pastor said, "They don't have a name yet, so here are the 'Boys from Bethlehem. It 'stuck'. They were managed by their uncle, Bruce Jarman, a dear and wonderful Man Of God. After singing at a large Arena in Fayetteville, 'The Boy's' were booked every weekend for over a year in advance. They normally would have three or four bookings a weekend. They covered the Eastern U.S.A. from Fla. to Delaware, as well as, Missouri. There have been others join the Boys over the years, but the four in this picture, Donnie, Warren, Michael and Tommy, were the Original 'Boys From Bethlehem' along with Marshall Jarman. We were/are so close to these four pictured! We love you' Boys', and thank you for the wonderful memories you have given us. Georgie loved you all *so* much!
May God continue to Bless your Ministry
Sam

Georgie loved all of you so much and he is playing a golden guitar in 'Our Heavenly Home.'

Note from the Pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church
Jerry Bryant

In 1985 I became pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Jacksonville, NC. I was introduced to a gospel group known as the Boys From Bethlehem. Through the years, the members of the group have changed. But one thing has not changed, their purpose-to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through the medium of music. Their music and their lives have touched so many people helping to heal hurts, give encouragement, give strength and point the way to Jesus Christ. It is my sincere prayer that their ministry continue until!

Notes From The Boys

Singing with the Boy's From Bethlehem for the last 33 yrs. has been a wonderful experience in my life. Being able to do this with family and a few friends has been great!! God has richly blessed our lives and this ministry over the years. The most important thing of all was being able to see the lost brought to Christ through a word spoken or a song sung. We have seen the hearts and lives of many people touched and changed over the years. Even if God chooses for us to never sing another note, it surely has been a journey that I will never forget.
Donnie Avery

It is hard sometimes to believe that the Boys are still singing after almost 33 yrs. I have questioned God so many times and asked Him, "Why are we still singing after so long of a time"? I always get the same answer. "Because I am not through with you yet". We realize this every time the Boys hold a service somewhere. We have been places and seen things that most people will never get the chance to do or see. We have been fortunate and blessed to be able to minister to folks after so many years. When Georgie was called home, I remember telling my family and the other Boys, "I will never sing again". But Almighty God had a different plan for me and the Boys. So, we are still together, still traveling and still ministering. How much longer? Only God knows. When He says it is time to stop........then we'll stop. I thank Him for all the blessings he has poured out on the Boys over the years. I would not trade the experience for anything in this world. May God continue to Bless us and you.
Warren Jarman

I'm thankful for all the memories I have had with the Boys From Bethlehem. We were and still are a 'band of brothers'. With Georgie on the lead guitar, Tommy on the bass, Faison on the drums and yours truly banging on the piano, we played some great music you just can't get with soundtracks. Its great getting with the guys these days and loading the trailer for a church singing somewhere. I become transported into a place where I know God still wants us to be. I don't understand the hows and whys about God's will, but I know he still has his hand on our lives. And God brought in special people throughout our 33 years of singing to bless our lives as well as our sound. Georgie was one of those people. He was probably the most loving, kindhearted person I ever knew. And I still miss him. We all do. Thank you, God, for people like Georgie, Warren, Tommy, Donnie, Faison, and a host of hundreds of others who have enriched my life throughout the years. Thank you, God, for this band of brothers.
Michael Jarman

I really don't know what to say about 'The Boys From Bethlehem' other than it's been one of the best things in my life. Going from place to place, meeting people and making new friends. Georgie played with 'The Boys' for a few really good years. I thank God for sending Georgie to us. He was the best. I feel the Lord still has plans for 'The Boys' and until he tells us it's time to stop we will KEEP ON KEEPING ON (as Uncle Bruce would say). I also want to thank the Lord for my best friends Warren, Mike, and Donnie; my best buds.
Tommy Jarman
